The I.N.N. travels the globe to learn how people think and feel about our 6- and 8-legged friends. Created and hosted by E. Emmet Brady, the I.N.N. is a non-stop multi-media interdisciplinary plunge into the microcosm.

ON LOCATION: San Francisco, Boston, Rome



The I.N.N.'s Emmet Brady was host for BEE-A-THON 2011, the first-ever global online marathon dedicated to raising awareness about honeybees and other pollinator issues.  First broadcast 7/16/11, the B.A.T. interviewed over 3 dozen guests scientists, artists, activists, naturalists and educators about bees. The B.A.T. was produced in conjunction with YourGardenShow.com and the Great Sunflower Project at San Francisco State University.

Launching "The Insectual Revolution" as we co-produce "Buggin' Out," the Def Story Slam at the California Academy of Sciences, one of the premiere Entomology research centers on the planet.

ON LOCATION: Rishikesh, India



With the Hanuman Langur monkeys in the foothills of the Himalayas, researching the insect mythology of the Teej Festival, and lecturing on Biomimicry of Insects to business schools in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

ON LOCATION: Tulum, Mexico



In front of the temple of Ah Mucen Kab, exploring the 2,000 year connection between the Mayan civilization and the sacred stingless honeybee, M. beechii.

ON LOCATION: Humboldt, CA



Presenting about the Insect News Network while exploring the underground communication chambers of angry hordes of yellow jackets at the Earthdance Festival. 
For most of 2011, the I.N.N. documented the vast array of ways that insects show up in the creative endeavors of humans.  The result was the "Insects are Everywhere" video series.  Here is "Part 1: Tattoos."  All original photography by host E. Emmet Brady. 

               


The I.N.N. hosted the Bay Area premiere of a very important  documentary about the lives of honey bees called "Queen of the Sun: What are the Bees Trying to Tell Us?"  We will be at the openings in San Francisco, Cupertino and Berkeley with our partners YourGardenShow.com as part of the Great Sunflower Project.

On the I.N.N., we take the viewer into the world of Cultural Entomology, which explores the parallels and connections between insects and humans. 



We have 3 sources of material:
  • Original content, including blog, video, books, audio and live lectures;
  • User-generated content, submitted by the fans of the I.N.N., and
  • The I.N.N. Salon which are our premiere line of interviews with the best and the brightest minds in our culture, to learn what they think and how they feel about insects.
